Description
NEW FALCATA LIGHTWEIGHT PLYWOOD! An affordable plywood sheet that’s easy to cut.
Printed Panels now offers a high-grade lightweight plywood with a nominal thickness of 3.6mm (actual thickness of 3.2mm). Printed Panels has worked hard with its partnered manufacturer to ensure only the best falcata sheets are selected for the manufacturing process. Sheets won’t contain large putty marks, patches and other similar characteristics, ensuring you can use more of the sheet for your next projects. Sheets could still contain small, very isolated imperfections, such as a thin crack with filler, small dent, mark etc and the sheet may have a faint parallel line marking which would only occur on one side of the sheet. We have priced this competitively and it is a budget level plywood.
Light weight plywood is often used within the caravan industry due to its light weight properties and ease of cutting. With an interior grade glue this lightweight plywood is extremely easy to laser cut and leave a light golden brown edge.
Choose from 6 cutting options labelled from A to F.
This product has the following attributes
Thickness: 3.2mm actual (3.6mm nominal)
Face Grade: Front is a C grade, rear is a C grade. See highlighted section below.
Glue Type: Made with an interior grade glue
Emissions: E1
Sheet Size: The full sheet size we stock is 1220x2440mm and we can provide this cut down to 600x1220mm, 600x600mm or 600 x400mm. Most sheets will be larger than the size listed. Eg 4 x 610 x 1220mm.
Q. How are the sheets graded?
A. The manufacturer grades all sheets, however unlike hoop pine, there will be no physical grading stamps on the sheet. This sheet was graded as BB, however we have reduced this to CC ourselves and lowered the pricing slightly as these selected sheets may have a darker grain pattern or very minor imperfections such as dark marks from within the core layer or from manufacturing process. This is still a very usable appearance grade sheet, but you may need to work around some small sections of the sheet.
Q How does it engrave?
A. See below
Q. What should I expect?
A. This is a budget plywood that is very lightweight and softer than other more common plywood. Every sheet is different and being a natural product, each will have a slightly different grain, color and pattern. Sheets could have some parallel lighter colored lines from manufacturing, but this should only be on one side of the sheet if it occurs. As we have reduced the price and regraded these selected sheets to CC, there may be some darker grain patterns on these as well as small imperfection.
Example of darker grain pattern and marks that can occur on CC graded sheets.

Line pattern also seen here and may only occur on one side of the sheet or we list as a downgraded sheet at a heavily reduced price if it occurs on both sides.
Q. Why is it 3.2mm and not 3mm?
A. This lightweight plywood is manufactured to a 3.6mm nominal thickness. After plywood tolerances are taken into account (used in many plywood standards around the world) the actual thickness produced will be 3.2mm. Eg. often a 3mm plywood may only be 2.7mm.
Q. How do you package the plywood
A. Our stock is carefully cut and packaged. We use heavy duty custom boxes to send the majority of our products including plywood. Below is 600x400mm and 600x600mm hoop pine orders being packed.
Q. How is it different vs Hoop Pine?
A. Our standard hoop pine is 4mm but can be a little thicker. So these sheet will be a little thinner and you will notably feel the difference in weight. The grain will be less swirly than hoop pine, and will have a more smooth surface with an long grain pattern across the face.

Additional Information:
- The manufacturer grades all sheets however, we have regraded one lower and reduced the price slightly.
- As this is a natural timber product, each sheet will be unique in terms of grain pattern, small knots and darker patterns.
- Sheets could have some parallel lighter colored lines from the manufacturing process. Some sheets may have this, but we aim to only use sheets that have this on one side.
- Occasional imperfections may occur but should not affect the majority of the sheet. Eg small dent or scratch.
- It is recommended to store your plywood sheet with a weight on top of the entire sheet and to store in a dry area out of direct sunlight or varying temperatures.
- Sheet measurements may have a variance of +/- 5mm as we do us a vertical panel saw to cutdown plywood
- Whenever cutting this material make sure you are using proper fume extraction with adequate airflow and being vented outdoors.
